Portability

We are committed to ensuring a seamless transition for policyholders seeking to port their existing health insurance policy to our Company. The portability process is governed by regulatory provisions and is designed to preserve continuity benefits, subject to underwriting evaluation

1. What is Portability?

Portability means a facility provided to the health insurance policyholders (including all members under family cover), to transfer the credits gained for, pre-existing diseases and specific waiting periods from one insurer to another insurer.

2. Eligibility Criteria

he existing policy must be active without any break in coverage.
Requests for portability must be made before the date of policy renewal.

3. Process Overview
Step 1: Application Submission

The proposer must submit a portability request to our Company:
- At least 30 days before the renewal date of the existing policy
- Not earlier than 60 days prior to renewal
Proposal form and Portability form must be filled with complete and accurate information.

Step 2: Data Retrieval

Upon receiving the request, we shall obtain relevant policy and claims data from the existing insurer through the IIB Portal.
The previous insurer is required to provide this information within 72 hours of receipt of portability request through IIB portal.

Step 3: Underwriting Evaluation

The proposal will be assessed based on:
- Age, medical history, and claims experience
- Existing coverage details
- Underwriting guidelines of our Company
Medical tests may be requested, if necessary.

Step 4: Decision & Communication

A decision shall be communicated within 5 days of receiving complete information.

4. Policyholder’s Entitlement

Policyholder is entitled to the transfer of credits gained to the extent of the Sum Insured, No Claim Bonus, specific waiting periods, waiting period for pre-existing disease, Moratorium period etc from the Existing Insurer to Our Company in the previous policy.

5. Key Points to Note

Portability is subject to underwriting.
Any misrepresentation or non-disclosure may lead to proposal rejection.
Premium and policy terms may vary from the previous insurer.
